Developed by Lockheed Martin, the FORTIS Exoskeleton is an unpowered, lightweight suit that gives the user strength, endurance, and flexibility. It transfers loads the user feels into the ground in standing or kneeling positions. This allows the operator to use heavy tools as if they were weightless.
The exoskeleton is also adaptable to different body types and heights, moves naturally with the body, and allows operators to effortlessly hold objects of up to 36 pounds, not quite enough to lift a car, but enough to reduce muscle fatigue and prevent back/shoulder injuries.
