Miimo, RoboLawnmower

Remember Roomba? You know, the robotic vacuum cleaner that is also programmable to do lots of other cool stuff?

Well, recently, Honda has decided to make something similar, in the form of a Robotic Lawnmower.

Called Miimo, it cuts about 2-3 mm of grass every time, and moves in random patterns, so that the lawn in question will have less stress. Miimo works autonomously, roaming inside the boundaries of a wire area put by the user. It has three bump sensors and senses when it’s running low on battery, so it requires almost no maintenance; it returns to its charger dock when it’s low on batteries, and won’t cause any problems.

In addition, it can do everything that a regular lawnmower can, without the user. It can climb up to 24 degree slopes, and slows down for thicker areas of grass. This is perfect for people who don’t usually have time to deal with mowing grass, or lack the ability to, like the elderly or busy people.

There weren’t many good videos, but here’s one!
